Warlike people, the Celts gave a paramount place to the fear they inspire to their enemy during their violent battles between tribes or against their Roman and cruel invaders. The Celtic scout, the body decorated with paintings of war, carrying macabre signs made of heads of his decapitated enemies, placed himself at the first rank of their horde. We find again this worship of force and dead in the Celt architecture, made of the alignement of drawn up or superimposed stones, used at the same time as funerary building and religious symbol.
